Deoriatal Chandrashila Trek

Deoriatal Chandrashila Peak trek is a perfect debut to trekking in Himalayas as the trek gradient is easy with nicely marked trails and mesmerizing views.The highest altitude of this trek is 12086ft at Chandrashila Peak which means “Moon Rock” where you get a 360 degree view of mighty mountains like Nandadevi, Kedar peak, Bandarpunch and Chaukhamba peaks.The trek is of 4-6 days depending of different types of itinerary.March is one of the best seasons for this trek as you witness the trail from chopta to Tungnath surrounded by blooming rhododendron.

En-route to Chandrashila Peak you come across Tungnath Temple which is one of the highest altitude Shiva temples in the world where you can get a place to stay for the night.

It is suggested to do the summit early morning to witness the beautiful sun rising from the depths of big mighty mountains to paint the sky orange to blue and keep you stunned by this amazing work of nature.

During the early morning climb to Chandrashila Peak lookout for a herd of deer or a flock of peacocks in the grassland.
